Global Warming Kills the Oceans

Global warming is caused by the greenhouse gases that come from CO emissions. Global warming is a major robber to various aspects of the world, especially the oceans. If we look at all the components of global warming and how it affects the oceans, we then can figure out a way to stop it. If we turn our attention to reducing CO emissions we would see that even in a decade it would not Stop global warming. Oceans are a major part of the world and global warming affects theses oceans massively. Endangered species of the oceans can be affected by global warming, and could possibly go extinct.

It could even affect us and our surrounding land. So how could we reduce global warming and stop its affects? Well that is up to you to keep reading and find out. So, by examining that the cut of CO emissions will not stop global warming, effects it has on the worlds oceans, affects on endangered species, affects it has on us, and how could we stop its destructive manners it is clear that global warming is a major issue of today’s society. There is a theory out there that if we could possibly cut CO emissions that it would reduce global warming by a long run.

AY Gore, vice president Of America, believes that global warming is a man made problem that can only be cured through drastic reductions in just the “greenhouse 993). To an existent this theory is true, yes it is a man made problem but greenhouse emissions can be cured in many more ways rather than just reducing CO emissions. AY Gore had stated that global warming is the most important and major issue we have today, when in fact there are many more issue in the world we could look at that causes this global warming.

The fact is that even if we reduce CO emissions by extensive numbers, in 100 years global warming would only be reduced by 2009), which in this case is not a lot. We would spend more money on trying to reduce CO emissions when the money could be used for ore efficient and affective ways. Another theory to global warming is the Kyoto Protocol, which is an agreement that is part of the U. N climate treaty. This plan is to make more efficient ways to make things run and work without giving off too much CO, but if they can not get the senates approval then they can not go through with this plan.

Many of the people in the world have their doubts about both plans and think that global warming is not a major issue or if its even occurring. S. Fred Singer, president of the science and environmental policy project states “there is no scientific consensus that lobar warming is occurring'(Hanson, 1993). The reality is that there is proof of global warming. Sea levels are rising everyday due to global warming. The oceans cover about 75% of the world, but that could change. Increasing sea levels are rising fast and in large amounts. Global warming is at fault for this increasing of the sea levels.

The greenhouse gases are warming up the air and earth, which is causing the sea to warm up. When the sea warms up its causes the oceans to expand. Scientist believe in the next 1 00 year the sea levels are going to rise about 30 centimeters (Schneider, 1997), which could cause significant problems. With the oceans rising quickly, some the affects are more storms like; hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, and mudslides. Our houses today are not build for massive destructions like these storms. Another impact that global warming has on the oceans is that glaciers have been melting away for awhile now.

Ever since global warming has been an issue for the oceans the glaciers have been melting faster and faster. This means that the oceans will get bigger, expanding onto the land and where we live. Low lands will be covered by water and non-livable, and people will be forced to live up in higher lands. Now We are not the only Ones that can be affected by the rising sea levels, sea life and mammals can be affected as well. Mammals, coral reefs, and animals that use the oceans can be all affected by what’s happening due to global warming. Polar bears are the most affected by the fact that the artic is melting away really quickly.

The result of the meltdown could be an ecological disaster that spells the end for the polar bears(Anonymous, 2004). Polar bears use the ice as platforms to catch fish, seals, and other food(Anonymous, 2004), and as the ice caps are melting, polar bears are drowning because there is not that platform for the bears to treat to when they are done fishing. Another thing that is impacted by global warming are coral reefs. The affect from global warming is that the coral reefs are bleaching. Bleaching means that the coral reefs lose their color and turn white.

The bleaching that is occurring is a result from the premature onset of high sea surface temperatures(Attractants, 2009). “The water went up a couple of degrees above the mean, so the corals rapidly responded and they bleached,” states Dry Guillemot Ditz-Pulled from the university of Queensland Centre for Marine Studies. When the corals bleach, the fish pay the price. They lose their homes and food sources. Which then affects us because then we loose a valuable food source as well. Global warming can affect and does affect the human life and its resources.

It can also affect the environment that we live on. It affects us humans in a negative way. The more we use CO emissions and causes green house gases, which destroy the earths atmosphere, the more it affects us and the earth we live on. One problem that could affect us and the environment is that when the oceans get warm and expand it causes floods or tsunamis that could destroy low lying homes close to the oceans and horrifically bad dorms. This mean it could potentially destroy homes and put valuable lands under water, which in such a some world could hurt us real bad.

We already do not have a lot of land to fit all the people and losing more would cause ciaos in our countries. Another way it could affect us is that we could lose a lot of valued food sources and resources. As floods and storms become more frequent a lot of our crops will be washed away. We depend on crops and gardens that if they were gone we could not survive. Most of the animals would go extinct because they could not adapt to the new weather. Most importantly we would lose resources because the weather would become so bad that they would all be either washed out or destroyed.

So how can we prevent all this occurring? Well one way could be to reduce the greenhouse gases that we produce everyday, from the use of cars, to the use of heating out homes. If we all could cut back on producing these CO emissions, it would not take the global warming away but it would be a start and help save our atmosphere. If we all tried to use renewable resources such as; solar panels, wind power, Water power, and geometric energy. All these renewable resources can help he earth’s atmosphere and environment incredibly. Another thing we could do to help stop global warming is we could all plant a tree.

If every person in all the worlds population planted one tree are environment would be a lot cleaner and better because trees give us oxygen which is very essential to basically all life on planet earth. If we don’t try and do something now, in a decade we could all be under the oceans water or worst. To end it off we know that CO emissions have been a big problem ever since we have started to be so dependent on using these emissions in our daily lives. These emissions cause global warming and its affects on the oceans of the world.
